What is a CT?

The single slice, or single row, CT technology was the industry standard for nearly three decades. Over the past several years, multidetector CT has become state-of-the-art and has quickly leaped from four to eight to sixteen rows of detectors. The newest generation multidetector scanners collect up to 64 slices of data in a single revolution in less than one second. With one breathhold, greater patient coverage is possible with thinner slices and higher spatial resolution, thereby giving us the ability to acquire higher quality images in significantly less time. This enhanced image quality and faster scanning has impacted every subspecialty in radiology. Its particular strengths include vascular imaging, coronary CTA, oncologic imaging, and whole-body imaging. In the future it is possible that CT angiography may replace conventional angiography completely. At AMI we are committed to offering state-of-the-art technology to our patients.

AMI is proud to announce the latest CT technology ASiR™, available exclusively at our Wall Township office.  Our revolutionary ASiR™ technology reduces your exposure to radiation by 50%, unlike any other existing CT scanner.  This state-of-the-art ASiR™ technology provides unprecedented image quality, giving your doctor sharper detail for a more confident diagnosis.
